There is a story behind every person

Everybody has a story that they do not share. All that glitters is not gold. Similarly don’t take people at face value and jump to conclusions or make judgements.
We very easily say stuff like “They have everything sorted. Why can’t they do this much?” We fail to take into account what they have done or are doing. At times it is not visible because they are not talking about it.
A cheerful woman (face value) hides her story of an unfaithful husband and wayward children. Children are happy taking sides with the father.
A successful business couple (face value), with well brought up children, hides their story of being tied up in property litigation.
A professionally successful woman (face value) hides her distress of a toxic family.
An educated happy home-maker (face value) hides her story of giving up a career and being filled with regrets.
An educated professional with a successful family (face value) hides his story of not feeling fulfilled in service life.
They do not share these stories either.
There are some people who go out of their way to extend help or a kind word. They are filled with compassion and empathy. Such people believe in the boomerang effect of good deed. Blessings come to your life as a return gift. The law of Karma. Why are they like this? It is because they experienced it while growing up and believed it to be the universal truth.
On the other hand, there are some people who do not trust others, will not go forward to give a helping hand. They believe that each must fend for himself. They look at people suspiciously. Why are they like this? It is because they experienced being cheated and left to manage on their own while growing up and believed it to be the universal truth.
If you are fortunate not to have much discomfort or disturbance in your life, I take it you practice good deeds and gratitude. When gratitude becomes our attitude, we start identifying the good things happening in our life. A feel good factor begins to work in us; the positive vibrations begin. Believe me…. a lot of negativity gets washed away.
So when you feel unhappy, just make an effort to reach out and help somebody who needs it. A simple phone call or visit to enquire about how they are doing will go a long way. The other person’s goodwill towards you will chase away your shadow of unhappiness. And when someone asks you “how are you?”, say you are “doing good”. When you keep repeating “doing good” you will actually manifest it in your life.
