WALK ALONE

If you can master the art of ‘walking alone’ in the journey of life, you have become a powerful person. It begins with letting go of seeking external validation. External validation makes us feel good and worthwhile. If we don’t get it, we fall prey to self doubt and depression.
Walking alone also means that we are okay with articulating our opinions, although we know that it may not please people in authority. It may also result in authority belittling us. We need to be okay with that and walk with our head held high. Things will sort out after a period of time.
If you deeply believe in something and know that such decision will bring general benefits for all, stick to it even if no one supports you. When people see you adamantly moving ahead, they will gradually, very slowly make attempt to appreciate your viewpoint. Grudgingly they will begin to respect you.
However, do remember that you are responsible for the consequences of your decisions. So, in a way it is good that you do not have a pile of people around your decision.
If you ever feel that you are unable to grow and move forward in life, check what kind of people you are surrounded with. Are they the kind of people who point out how difficult it is to follow your audacious dream and encourage you to stick to status quo? If yes, it is time you discarded such company. Or learnt to keep your dreams to yourself and work alone.
When I say ‘work alone on your dreams’ I mean that you keep thinking through. Talk to people to will not discourage you. Hunt for experienced experts who can guide you. Ultimately, it’s your decision. You will implement it. Or consider using services of a life coach to declutter your thoughts and get clarity. You can reach me at chandanagoswami@rediffmail.com
Remember, when you step out of your comfort zone, you will experience a lot of self doubt, stress, anxiety etc. Such situations will make you question yourself and wonder if it was a right choice. Whether it was a correct or incorrect decision…. Only time will tell. Even if you fail, you will have the advantage of the experience. So why not try it out? Walk Alone.
